Style to me is all about the find, the evolution, and the remix. I am constantly drawing inspiration from things around me… Magazines, television, travel, fashionistas, art, friends, cultures, my closet… The inspiration is everywhere. The key is taking the inspiration and making it your own, finding a confident style that fits your life. What works for someone, may not work for you, but might just inspire you to inject new life into your own style. Style should be comfortable, because comfortable radiates confidence!
This Burberry Polo has remained a go-to staple in my wardrobe. It is a preppy classic in my closet I can always rely on. I love the collar, the buttons and the longer length. {The length of shirts is always a priority when I am acquiring a new piece.}
The Red Zara Leggings I picked up in New York during Fashion Week are so lovely. I love the hidden elastic waist, I love the stretch, I love the $60 price tag, and I LOVE the zippers at the bottom of the pant. Zippers at the bottom are fantastic because they even out the profile of the pant. Skinny jeans that tightly wrap your ankle just aren’t my thing with flats. However, they are great with boots, and work with high heels most of the time. {I feel very out of proportion when the ankle is slim and I’m wearing a flat or a sandal.}
The Gold Chloe Scalloped Ballerina Flat is a new acquisition. I have a go-to silver Tory Burch flat I wear often, so a gold flat rounded out my collection nicely. {Gold and silver are fabulous neutral colors, just remember to tie them in with your jewelry or purse so you look pulled together.}
Accessories inject the fun element into your outfit. I am typically the girl who wears the same jewelry over and over again, not deviating much from the norm. However, since I have begun writing and challenging myself, I have come out of my shell by pushing myself to new limits, and trying new things. {I have discovered accessories can totally transform the look of an outfit, and really give you a chance to be creative.}
The Delicate By Boe Heart Necklace is the perfect layering piece and also beautiful alone. I scored this necklace in my swag from Lucky Fabb during New York Fashion Week.
The Burberry Stud Bracelet was a Burberry Outlet purchase… I love finding great pieces like this at outlets, I am definitely an outlet girl. It kind of goes back to the quote, “Fashion fades, but style remains the same.” Coco Chanel. {Once you find your personal style, picking up classic pieces becomes a part of your shopping motive. Buying trendy and “of the moment” is not a priority.} I am constantly thinking about how I can remix something. Do I feel this stud bracelet is rather timeless? Yes, and it was almost 75% off retail.
Find your Style, Enjoy the Evolution, Remember to Remix.
