Ahhhh, the closet. Your day begins and ends in this iconic space, so obviously the closet is one of the most important spaces to create when designing your home. How many times does a frustrating experience in the closet affect your mood?!? We are currently designing our family sanctuary with Houston Architect Todd Rice, and and designing an inspiring closet is high priority… Naturally it is easy for me to begin with one of the most important spaces, but least favorite spaces in my current home. Enjoy my journey of creativity and wish me luck as I negotiate the deal with my husband and architect- ha!

#2 Sleeping on the back prevents neck and back pain because the spine is in a neutral position and not forcing a curve.

#4 Sleeping on the back helps maintain perky breasts because your back helps support the weight and they aren’t pulling.

#5 One puffy pillow is the best and a wedge pillow is also great to use.

The Hubs and I ringing in the 2013

So as a new leaf turns over and an untouched year lies ahead of us, we all begin with the ideal freshness of growth and opportunity. A time to reflect, follow our dreams, break habits, form new ones, create goals and make changes in our lives. I keep hearing “New Year New You” and almost fell into the trap with the same headline. However, the more I thought about it… I do not want a new me, I want to embrace who I am.

So take charge of this year and enjoy self-discovery, recognize your strengths and focus on them, identify your weaknesses and work to improve them, follow your passion and embrace yourself! You don’t have to reinvent, you have to know yourself, adjust the sails a little bit and then live. Simple and attainable.

I wish you all the best in your endeavor to live a life of fullness this year and forever. Strive to improve life as you know it and be aware of yourself- it counts!

Heidi Klum - absolutely stunning in this close up at 45th American Music Awards 2012. Love her hair and soft makeup, Heidi Klum is a natural beauty. Unfortunately, I am not won over by the length of the Alexandre Vaultier gold and sheer lace mini dress. This mini dress with a high slit gets a risqué review – the combination of the high slit AND a mini length is a little too brazen for my taste. But I am no supermodel, and it is the American Music Awards.

[ Keep it Simple + Stylish Holiday Dressing Tips ]

1. Begin pulling pieces from your closet and putting them in a special section for holiday festivities. Rolling racks are tons of fun.

2. Play dress up and have fun making the pieces work in different ways. Find your best fitting pieces and work hard to style them many ways. I love trying on an outfit or two before I go to bed.

3. Try adding and subtracting accessories like jewelry, shoes, handbags, jackets, tights.

4. Although bling is nice, don’t overdo it… If you have bling in your outfit, make sure your look isn’t competing for attention. Balance

5. A 360 degree view – a plus when trying on looks.

6. If you need a new pair of shoes, buy smart, invest in a pair you will wear. Black patent is a classic investment.
