Our New Farm

We were at the Farm over the weekend and our neighbor told me I must get Meat Tenderizer to keep on hand for bite and sting emergencies! Yes, you are hearing that right… Meat Tenderizer is used to treat symptoms of insect bites and stings when mixed with water to make a paste. The proper ratio is 4 parts water to 1 part Meat Tenderizer and then rub for 15-20 minutes- but I will not hesitate to dust the bite and then rub with paper towel with water! Experts recommend to wash with soap and water first, but you know how that goes with little ones. I am no medical professional, just a Mom looking for tips to soothe the situation when we’re in a pinch! Consult with your Pediatrician if you would like more advice!
